RAGE4500 – The Next in Line

Ever wondered how it was being a lonely child? Were you missing out on having a senior that could fight your battles? The Rage series have so far only had smaller monos.  Next in line comes some serious muscle, The RAGE4500. So if you were looking for that large dynamic power with the RAGE footprint, you no longer need to run 2 sets of RAGE2500’s, the RAGE4500 is your weapon of choice. Born in the same compact heatsink as the 2500, but extended 6″ in length, this senior amp is still considered an install friendly footprint for a half bridge amplifier.

More Guts & More Glory

Twice the amount of power, from only 6″ more, might seem easy, but this was not just a reiteration. Starting from scratch, one of the goals were to offer all the premium features of our Zero line amps, but in a package that kept it within reach for the masses. Don’t consider it a lesser amp, but an amp that will be on par and even upping the ante compared to amps of the same topology. It takes power to make power, loosely translated to, the more guts, the larger the glory when dealing with high power amplifiers. Beefing up the power supply with 8 precision wound torroids increases both power &  efficiency, which is highly needed to unleash the near 9000 watts of dynamic power from this beast. Helping in doing so is also an increase of 20% in the total capacitance. So when you need that extra punch from your audio, there’s plenty of juice to back it up. Not saying the 15000 uF, weren’t adequate for the power, but the RAGE4500 was made to be a top contender.

Logical Triples

Cementing that though even further is the inherited power supply terminals from the Falcon / Zero Five amplifier. Most amplifiers up to 7kw has settled for dual oversized 0 GA for power and ground. So you’d reckon that would be fine for the 4500? Or you could just say, let’s solve a hurdle for the customers, while increasing performance. Thus, the logical triples, meaning all 3 positives on one side and all 3 grounds on the opposite side were implemented. Yes, they are all oversized 0 GA. To sum it all up, it just makes sense. The 10v ~17v operational voltage makes this amplifier a perfect match for those of you running custom lithium banks.

ACCU8 & Clip

These two features are also powerful tools. The ACCU8 deals away with guessing your crossover cutoff. The 41 click pots each corresponds to a unique frequency, so you will be on point with your audio settings. The clip indicator, which is dead on with stand alone tools, gives you full control of your signal path. The extra icing is that you have the same clip indicator on the bass level remote.

*In order to get the full power output of the amplifier, it is crucial that your electical system is correctly (over) dimensioned. Failure to upgrading will constrain the power output & lower the efficiency.  This can cause damage to the amplifier &  void the warranty. Drivng the amplifier with  ohm loads below of what is written in the manual is another void.  Therefore take your time and read the manual thoroughly prior to installing! **Marine capable products are not to be subjected directly to water, but has the ability of being functional in humid conditions.
